How Property Managers Can Benefit From Using Liquid Ice Melt

Whether you manage a homeowner’s association, apartment building, or retail facility, safety is always high on the list of priorities. Insurance companies are taking closer looks at how a property handles that potential for slips and falls. When using liquid deicer as a pretreatment, it keeps the snow from bonding to the pavement which makes walking or driving in the parking lot much safer. It can also be used on sidewalks. We sell two types of liquid ice melt at our Middletown, CT facility. These are Magic-0 by ProMelt and ProMelt Ultra Liquid Ice Melt 1000. Learn more about them here. Read on to learn more about how property managers can benefit from using liquid ice melt.

Liquid ice melt prevents ice from bonding to the surface.

Pretreating surfaces with liquid ice melt decreases the chance of snow or ice sticking to the pavement or other surfaces. This reduced the risk of slips and falls from the slippery and dangerous conditions. It should always be applied at least a few hours before a snow or ice storm because it is considered a pre-treatment for surfaces. When the storm has passed, the liquid ice melt also makes snow removal easier because it prevents the snow and ice from bonding to the surface.

It is safer for tenants and customers.

When compared to regular rock salt, liquid ice melt uses significantly less salt. This makes it better for the environment. Liquid deicer dries to the pavement surface and will not blow into the faces of your tenants or customers. It also is less likely to stick to shoes and be brought into homes and businesses. One of the top complaints of business owners is having to clean up the mess from rock salt every time a customer walks in. Knowing that they are not tracking rock salt chemicals into their apartment or business can give tenants peace of mind.

Liquid deicer can decrease labor time because of its long, residual effect.

Liquid ice melt provides longer residual action when compared to solid ice melt. Residual action is the amount of time that ice melt provides action after being applied. Because of this, there is no need to waste labor time with continuous applications of rock salt. Combine that with the fact that liquid ice melt makes snow removal easier, using it is a great way to save on labor costs
